Tree Shadows on Wall

Since our inception in 1978, Persona has been designed, edited, produced, and marketed entirely by our undergraduate staff. Submissions, which include poetry, fiction, nonfiction, and visual art (both two- and three-dimensional), are selected in a multi-committee system by students of all majors. It is our goal to allow aspiring undergraduate authors and artists the opportunity for recognition in a nationally-renowned publication, while also connecting with organizations both within the university and our surrounding community.

Persona has received national recognition and awards from the Coordinating Council of Literary Magazines (CCLM) in 1980 and the Associated Writing Program (AWP) in 1993, 1994, and 2000.

More information about our involvement, funding and donors under Additional Information in the About Us tab. Also, check out our archive of the past 40 years of Persona!

Persona will be holding general meetings beginning Fall 2022. For more information, please contact us at OR fill out our interest form for new members below.

Persona Magazine has published undergraduate poetry, fiction, non-fiction, and art since 1978. Our cross-disciplinary student staff and submitters are representative of many majors and areas of interest throughout the university. We provide students the opportunity to be published in a reputable magazine and facilitate the means for undergraduates to share their work with the community, all the while teaching life skills like leadership, time management, and collaboration in a real world environment.
